Sinkside Compost

I have a container next to my sink into which I place my food scraps before taking them out to my compost bin by my garden. This series is a fun look at what I eat via my food scraps. I enjoy painting the odd shapes of color that move in and out of recognition. My countertop is black and reflects different color as to the light of the day. This helped to create the dramatic background to some of these pieces. Obviously, I eat a lot of eggs and, when in season, asparagus. Lettuce, squash, oranges, mangoes, broccoli stems and more are in these paintings. All paintings are on cradled wood panels that I create in my woodshop. Sizes are approximate. The sides are unpainted and can remain so for hanging. The color of the wood off-sets the nature of the scrappy subject matter. All are ready to hang. If interested in purchasing a painting, please contact me.
